How Sculptra Works

Sculptra is the treatment that activates your skin’s natural power to revitalize collagen production for a more youthful appearance.

Sculptra works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, rebuilding and reinforcing your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful looking skin, providing results that can las up to two years.

Sculptra consist of Poly-L-Lactic Acid, which is a synthetic polymer that has been used in human body since 1960 and as medical suture material from 1970.

Sculptra FAQ

How much does Sculptra cost?
Treatments with Sculptra can range in price based on how much you need to achieve your desired results. You may need several treatments to get the optimal outcome. In your initial consultation, your injector will listen to your concerns and develop a treatment plan with cost estimates.

How does Sculptra work?
The main ingredient in Sculptra, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), is a collagen stimulator. Sculptra can help to rejuvenate the skin’s elasticity and volume over time as more collagen is formed. The rebuilt strands of collagen can effectively plump lines and wrinkles.

Are Sculptra injections safe?
Sculptra is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), and it has a long history of safety worldwide since the late 1990s. Side effects are rare and usually mild, including minor pain, bruising, inflammation, and redness. Occasionally, small bumps may appear when pressure is applied to the injection site. Contact our office if you experience any concerns about side effects that are abnormal or last too long.

What is the best age to receive Sculptra?
Sculptra is beneficial for individuals who are wanting to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is often used to fill chin wrinkles, lines around the lips, and deep lines between the nose and mouth. On average, patients start to get Sculptra anywhere from their early 30s to their late 50s; however, Sculptra can be used on most patients, as long as they are over the age of 18 years old.

How long do results last?
For longer-lasting results, you may need to receive several injections. Sculptra is different from other fillers because the results usually last up to two years. Since Sculptra continues to increase the natural production of collagen in your skin, results may appear more gradually.
