Beleza Surgery is one of a few medspas in the nation to use the Opus Plasma Laser for fractional skin resurfacing, and the first in the Austin area.

What Is Skin Resurfacing?

For decades now, skin resurfacing procedures help repair the skin, typically using laser technology. Areas most commonly treated include the face, neck, upper chest, and hands. It can be the most dramatic non-invasive, non-surgical method to repair and renew the skin to address a wide range of skin concerns.

For someone who is experiencing aging, acne, blotching from sun exposure, scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, or lines, then laser skin resurfacing may help your skin look younger and healthier. This procedure uses a fractional-based skin resurfacing method that involves creating microscopic injuries to just a fraction of the skin. This leads to stimulation of natural wound healing, a response from your body, repairing the skin itself.

Why Opus Plasma?

The new Opus Plasma Fractional Laser procedure builds on the foundation of the popular and widely accepted science of fractional skin resurfacing. Beleza Surgery is the first to carry the new machine in the Austin area. The Opus uses plasma as an energy source to carry out the fractional skin resurfacing procedure.

Opus Plasma uses a one-of-a-kind plasma technology to control the energy distributed on to the skin with precision, minimizing inflammation that leads to longer recovery. The biggest advantage of the Opus Plasma Fractional Laser versus other skin resurfacing methods is downtime – Opus Plasma requires less downtime to recover.

What Should I Expect?

The entire procedure for Opus Plasma is a quick, 15-minute treatment in office. A Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant will do the laser resurfacing procedure and will give an application of a topical anesthetic. As mentioned before, there is minimal downtime, so you can undergo the treatment a few days or a week before an event.

We offer a complimentary consultation with the practitioner and she/he will assess your skin and personalized the best treatment plan for you based on your skin goals. You may begin to notice improvements just after one treatment, but for optimal results, 2 or 3 treatments may be recommended.

Is The Treatment Painful?

Every patient and treatment plan is different and a degree of discomfort will vary with everyone. Topical anesthetic can be applied by the practitioner to numb the treatment area before the treatment takes place to minimize any discomfort.

What Does Recovery Look Like?

Recovery depends on the treatment plan that has been recommended by your practitioner. You may experience a day or two of mild to moderate redness and swelling, but not significant enough to interfere with your day-to-day activities. Using moderate settings can lower the downtime to minimal. Studies have shown that Opus Plasma required 50% less downtime when compared to another fractional skin resurfacing laser.

Who Is A Good Candidate for Opus Plasma?

The Opus Plasma is a versatile tool to meet the needs of a wide demographic population of patients of different age groups, skin types, and skin concerns. If you are someone that wants to address aging, acne, blotching from sun exposure, scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, or lines, then looking into an Opus Plasma treatment would be desirable. A practitioner will be able to develop the optimal treatment plan for you and is able to dial the energy of plasma to personalize your needs.
