What is a Breast Reduction?
Oversized breasts can cause social and functional concerns for women. In addition, overly large and unbalanced breasts can lead to insecurity issues and overall embarrassment, as well as aches and pains. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Staci Hix-Hernandez helps countless women get back their confidence and feel more comfortable through breast reduction surgery at Beleza Surgery. In our accredited OR at our Cedar Park, TX location, this cosmetic surgery removes excess breast tissue and skin to reshape the breasts to a more compatible size. This surgery also reconstructs the size of the nipples/areolas and moves them so they look natural with the new breast size. In most situations, a breast lift can be performed to produce a tighter and healthier appearance.
Breast Reduction Reviews
"I am soon late in posting my review. I had breast reduction over a year ago and I can not be happier. It was so worth. Dr. Staci was AWESOME, she really cares for you and cks up on you. Every visit I had I would always tell her " I'm on top of the world, I feel normal now"😊. I'm going back for a butt lift for sure😊"- F.S. / Google / May 04, 2021
What Can I Expect from My Breast Reduction?
Breast reduction surgery is an outpatient treatment and is performed with general anesthesia. The duration of the surgery is dependent upon many factors, including the complexity of the incision, the overall technique, and finally, how much reduction is required. The areola and nipple area repositioning will also be a factor. The issue surrounding scarring is also carefully discussed as it is common to occur. However, modern techniques have led to a noticeable reduction in the visibility of scarring. Based on the complexity of the reduction, either an anchor or a straight line (vertical) incision will be made. Breast fat and tissue will then be removed, and the existing tissue and skin will be pulled and lifted. After surgery, you will be observed closely in our quiet recovery facility and then discharged home to heal. A thin tube for draining will most likely be inserted near the incision area to help control bleeding, and you'll need to wear a medical sports bra for a few days to improve blood flow to the breasts during the immediate recovery. After about a month, your breasts will settle and the post-op effects will disappear. Keep in mind, it is important to stay at a healthy weight so the outcomes are not affected in a negative way.
