You’ve tried working out six or even seven days a week. You’ve gone through every diet in the book. And still, you’re not able to lose that stubborn fat that makes you feel confident in your own skin. Enter liposuction – a way to attack those stubborn pockets of fat that seem impossible to get rid of.

At Beleza Surgery in Cedar Park and Killeen, TX, our team is committed to helping you feel and look your best. Liposuction is a body reshaping procedure that diminishes fat from the flanks, buttocks, tummy, and thighs – creating that slim, lean appearance you’ve always wanted.

Whether you opt for one or multiple body parts, liposuction can help you achieve your weight loss goals in ways diet and exercise cannot. Here’s how to reduce those stubborn areas of fat with liposuction.

What exactly is liposuction?

If you’re overweight or simply struggling to lose those final pounds that won’t seem to budge, liposuction is a great way to help you achieve the look you desire. It reduces fat in one or multiple areas – such as the flanks (the sides and back of your abdomen), tummy, buttocks, and thighs – using a surgical suction technique.

With surgical liposuction at Beleza Surgery, stubborn fat is diminished nearly instantly. This means that you don’t have to wait to attain the slim appearance you’re looking for.

What should I expect during a liposuction procedure?

The first step to liposuction is a consultation at our office in Cedar Park or Killeen, TX. During your initial visit, one of our expert team members will examine your body and discuss your goals to create a unique plan that works for you.

Liposuction is an outpatient procedure at Beleza Surgery, which means you’ll go home the same day of your surgery. It is performed using general anesthesia to ensure you don’t feel anything during the procedure.

During liposuction, a very small incision is placed in your skin, where a cannula (a thin tube that helps loosen fatty tissues) is placed. Once the desired amount of fat deposits have been removed, the incision will be closed. Depending on how many parts of your body you’d like addressed, the procedure can take up to several hours.

Afterward, you’ll be moved to a separate recovery area, where your post-op team will help manage any pain and care until you are discharged.

What is recovery like after liposuction?

Once at home, you may need to recover for several weeks, depending on what and how many areas you have treated. You will likely experience some bruising and swelling for one to two weeks, and your sutures will be removed in our Cedar Park or Killeen, TX office after about 7 – 10 days.

Rest and recovery are critical after liposuction to allow your body to heal. Once you return to normal activities, such as your job, try to minimize stress and strenuous activities as much as possible. It can be helpful to start with walking and light workouts.

You can expect a full recovery anywhere from 6 – 10 months, which is when your new body and shape will be fully achieved.
