Kybella (deoxycholic acid) is a FDA approved injectable that kills and destroys fat cells under the chin. While it is only FDA approved under the chin, practices around the country are performing “off-label” Kybella procedures and seeing amazing results. When Kybella is injected into the bra line to dissolve the unwanted bra bulge, we now have what the kids on the streets are calling “BraBella.”
BraBella Cost
Unlike most injectables, Kybella is sold by the vial. One vial of Kybella retails for $600. While consultations are required for all Kybella or BraBella procedures, we have found most patients require at least 2 vials for their first treatment of BraBella. Some patients only need one treatment, but others may need 2-3 additional treatments. It all depends on the amount of submental fat in the area.

Of course, with most every procedure, there is some downtime. With a full treatment of BraBella, it takes at least 4-6 weeks for the product to dissolve the submental fat. Patients typically require 2-3 treatments, roughly 6-12 weeks apart, so it can take some time to see a result. Tenderness and swelling will occur immediately after the procedure and can last for as least 1-2 weeks post-procedure.
Over the weeks to follow, that unwanted fat pocket will disappear gradually. The swelling can definitely be bothersome to most everyone, so it is best to plan out your BraBella treatment when you can hide under sweaters and jackets (and not right before a trip where you will be in a bikini or tank top!)
